broken image

The LEMONGRASS plant is often mistaken for a weed as it is in the grass family of plants. LEMONGRASS is one of the most diverse yet overlooked plants even today.

Here are the BASICS: The plant itself needs a warm, humid environment with adequate sun and rain to thrive but is hardy enough to be grown almost anywhere if the proper conditions are met. The plant blooms each season and is indigenous to India and its neighboring countries.

LEMONGRASS is commonly grown and cultivated for use in making curry but is also used in making soups, teas, and seafood dishes. LEMONGRASS Essential Oil can also support healthy digestion. It is also quite commonly used as an ingredient in perfumes, soaps, detergents, cleaning agents, and some beauty products.

With its pungent aroma, described as a smoky citrus scent, it is often used during massage to promote relaxation and a positive outlook, to heighten awareness, and for its purifying and toning benefits for the skin.

LEMONGRASS Essential Oil is what is considered a hot oil and should be diluted with carrier oil when applying topically to the skin, especially for those with skin sensitivities. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding it is best to consult your physician before use.
